In September 2011 a three day study-visit in Czech Republic was organized for 12 representatives of national institutions, academia, private and financial sector to demonstration objects and relevant stakeholders. Representatives from Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance, Energy Agency, Chamber of Architects, Chamber of Architects and Engineers, Chamber of small businesses, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering visited several demonstration object in Prague renovated with energy efficient measures, thus enabling direct knowledge-transfer and learning from on-hand Czech experience.
The study visit aimed to strengthen the capacities of the private sector and other key stakeholders regarding the latest technology, best practices and financial modalities accessible for successful implementation of public building retrofit programmes.
The study visit provided insights into the legal, regulatory, administrative, technical and commercial aspects of public building retrofit programmes, capitalizing on the Czech experience in the field.
The knowledge of private sector was strengthened regarding the compliance of low energy standards for public buildings and successful implementation of energy efficiency projects.
On the other hand, technical schools, universities and professional associations were supported to update and deliver modules about energy efficiency in design, construction and materials, for architects, engineers, construction managers, and skilled labor.
