FAQ
WHY ENERGY EFFICIENCY?

• Simple to use
The quickest and cheapest way to reduce the amount of energy consumed
• To preserve limited natural resources
For climate change
mitigation
For greater savings funds
• It is "renewable" - energy efficiency potential never runs out

WHAT ARE THE OBLIGATIONS FOR MUNICIPALITIES UNDER THE NEW LAW ON ENERGY?
  •    Preparation of 3-year programs for energy efficiency
  •    Preparation of annual analysis of energy consumption
  •    Organize monitoring of energy consumption
  •    Provide periodic energy audits and certification of public buildings
  •    Incorporate solar panels for hot water if it is economically viable
  •    Ensure implementation of programs for energy efficiency
WHAT CAN BE DONE IN OUR COUNTRY?

Adoption of Regulations for energy performance of buildings and certification new and renovated buildings.
Establish a system for collection of adequate and reliable data for the building sector, which will later be linked to specific climatic conditions in the country.
Comprehensive program for raising public awareness in order to increase knowledge among key decision makers at national and local level.

WHAT IS ExCITE?

Excite is a software that enables continuous energy monitoring in all public buildings. Its comprehensive database of climatological and inventory data, makes calculation of energy consumption, energy expenses and energy performance much easier.

Excite is an important and useful tool for both central and local governments that can facilitate more effective implementation of the Law on Energy by:

·         Supporting the preparation of 3-year municipal programmes for energy efficiency (baseline calculations)

·         Supporting the preparation of energy consumption annual analysis

·         Supporting the organization of a system for energy consumption monitoring

The software is free of charge and it will allow national institutions to have energy consumption statistics in a standardized format for the first time. These statistics are a valuable basis for the development of all future national and local energy efficiency programmes on public buildings.
