Training for local municipalities on environmental and energy efficiency topics & for using ExCITE software

Venue: ERA CITY, Skopje
Target Group: Energy Managers and Energy Administrators (list by dates) nominated by municipalities
The training on ExCITE software shall teach the final beneficiaries how to operate the application.Topics covered by the training on environmental and energy efficiency:
- Advantages for implementation of measures for energy efficiency;
- Related EU legislation and related national legislation (European directives, national laws, sub-laws and legislation concerning energy efficiency for implementation of projects on municipal level);
- Best practices of implementing energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in municipalities in the country and the EU;
- Concrete energy saving measures in public objects:
- thermal savings
- electrical energy savings
- Types of systems for energy efficiency and renewable energy available in the country;
- Overview of funds available for funding energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in the country;
- Clean Development Mechanism – networking, possibilities for implementation on a local level, regional best practices and preparation of PINs.

Study tours:
Study tour to Czech Republic, 6 - 10 September 2010
The study tour was organized for 14 participants, 12 representatives of Local Self-Governments and 2 representatives from UNDP. This study tour was organized to increase knowledge of local and national authorities regarding the compliance of laws and regulations deriving from the transposition of the EPBD and to strengthen their capacities regarding successful implementation of energy efficiency programmes for public buildings.
A CD containing video materials and all related documents/presentations form this study visit will be prepared and distributed to all municipalities.
